The RSPS community was recently shaken by the news that Runelist.io, a well-known RSPS platform, has been sold for a whopping $30,000. However, the mystery surrounding the new buyer has left many of us questioning the future of this platform. With the original project leader leaving, there are serious concerns about whether the new owner can live up to the promises that have been made to the community. Inactivity and Broken Promises One of the main concerns surrounding Runelist.io is the glaring inactivity. Not only has the much-touted 'protected launcher' – which was promised to enhance security for RSPS servers – remained incomplete, but the blog has also seen no new posts for an extended period. This raises questions about how committed the new owner is to delivering on the promises made by the previous leadership. Without clear communication or transparency, how can we, as RSPS players and server owners, place our trust in this platform moving forward? How RSPS Toplist Plans to Be Different At rspstoplist.com, we believe in providing a transparent, active, and secure platform for RSPS listings. Unlike Runelist.io, we are committed to ensuring that our platform evolves with the community’s needs. Our team is constantly engaging with the community and ensuring that our features, including virus-free listings and secure server management tools, are top-notch. We are actively developing our platform and blog to keep you informed, and we're here for the long haul. We plan to deliver on all promises, ensuring our members receive the best RSPS experience possible. So, while Runelist.io's new ownership may raise concerns, you can trust rspstoplist.com to provide a better, more reliable alternative for your RSPS needs.

When running an RSPS (RuneScape Private Server), protecting your server from attacks is crucial. CosmicGuard offers a gaming-focused solution that keeps your server safe and secure while maintaining optimal performance for your players. How CosmicGuard Protects Your RSPS: Hide Your Server's Real IP Instead of directly exposing your RSPS to the internet, CosmicGuard routes all player traffic through its mesh network. This hides your actual server IP, making it impossible for attackers to target it directly. Traffic Filtering CosmicGuard analyzes every connection to your server. It blocks malicious traffic, such as DDoS attacks and botting attempts, before it reaches your RSPS. Only clean, legitimate connections are allowed through. Optimized for Gaming Unlike standard VPNs, CosmicGuard is optimized specifically for gaming servers. It minimizes lag and ensures fast, uninterrupted connections for your players, keeping gameplay smooth while maintaining high security. Real-Time Monitoring Stay in control with real-time monitoring of your server's traffic and security status. If any suspicious activity is detected, you’ll receive immediate alerts, allowing you to respond quickly. Conclusion This method is highly effective against top-tier DDoS attackers, ensuring your RSPS game server experiences minimal downtime during direct server attacks. I recommend discussing this with your developer and setting it up immediately. Even with premium hosting services like OVH, your server remains vulnerable to sophisticated attacks. In fact, if I used lower-tier hosting with CosmicGuard, my server would be better protected than your OVH-protected server. So, what are you waiting for?

With the announcement of Project Zanaris, there’s been a buzz of excitement and concern in the RuneScape Private Server (RSPS) community. Server owners and developers are closely watching what this new initiative means for the future of custom servers and the OSRS ecosystem. A recent post by a highly skilled developer, Kris, sheds light on the situation and clears up a lot of misconceptions surrounding the project. Should RSPS owners be worried? Let’s explore Kris’s insights and what this all means for the future of private servers. Project Zanaris: What’s Really Happening? Project Zanaris has generated a lot of hype, but according to Kris, the initial iteration of community servers will be much simpler than many players expect. The first version, set to launch in 2025, will only allow players to rent servers with pre-defined settings and configurations. You’ll be able to adjust certain aspects of the game—like XP rates and boss availability—through a configuration file, but beyond that, there won’t be any advanced customization or content creation in the early stages. This means that the more ambitious ideas of building custom maps, adding new items, or modifying the game’s code are far from reality. Jagex has confirmed that while they’re exploring ways to eventually support content creation, there are no concrete plans or promises, making the future of more advanced tools and freedom highly uncertain. Should RSPS Owners Be Worried? Kris’s breakdown outlines five potential levels of Project Zanaris, ranging from basic server settings to full access to the RuneScape engine code. For now, only the first level—configurations through dials and knobs—has been confirmed, and that won’t impact RSPS owners at all. Here's why: Current RSPS Safe at Stage 1: The initial version will only let players tweak existing aspects of the game, like XP rates and disabling bosses, which won’t come close to the level of freedom and creativity that RSPS servers offer today. At this stage, private servers are entirely safe, and there’s no need to worry about players jumping ship to these community-hosted servers. Minimal Threat to RSPS at Future Stages: Even if Jagex eventually moves towards allowing limited custom content (level 2), it will still fall short of what RSPS communities offer. Advanced custom content and unique gameplay experiences, which are the bread and butter of private servers, won’t be possible for a long time, if ever. Long-Term Outlook: For now, RSPS owners don’t need to worry. Jagex’s plan to let players host community servers won’t impact private servers unless Project Zanaris reaches higher stages of development, which Kris estimates to have slim-to-none odds of happening. The complexity of giving access to RuneScape’s decades-old codebase and data files means the higher-ups at Jagex are unlikely to approve such a move. Turning Off Servers? Not Anytime Soon One question on the minds of many RSPS owners is whether they should consider turning off their servers in anticipation of Project Zanaris. Based on Kris’s insights and the current direction of the project, the answer is a resounding no. The first version of community servers does not pose any real threat to RSPS. There’s no need to make drastic decisions like shutting down servers or pausing development efforts. In fact, now is the perfect time to continue refining and expanding your RSPS to retain your player base and provide the kinds of experiences that Jagex’s community servers won’t be able to match for a long time. Conclusion: While Project Zanaris has sparked a lot of conversation, the reality is far less intimidating for RSPS owners than many initially thought. Kris’s detailed analysis shows that the initial version will offer nothing beyond simple configuration changes, and the likelihood of advanced customization tools becoming available is slim. For now, RSPS owners can breathe easy and continue to focus on delivering unique, custom experiences to their players. The RuneScape Private Server scene remains a vital part of the community, and with Project Zanaris not threatening that for the foreseeable future, there’s no reason to consider turning off your server anytime soon.

On September 12th, Royal RSPS launched, rebranding what was once Destiny RSPS. While rebrands often signal new beginnings, Royal RSPS appears to be anything but. With unfinished website pages, lazy graphics, and an overemphasis on its store page, it feels like this is just another quick money grab. For those familiar with the server’s owner, Johnny, this should come as no surprise. Unfinished Website, Lazy Graphics, and One Completed Page — The Store Let’s face it: a professional, polished website is critical for any online community, especially one that thrives on player engagement like a RuneScape private server. Unfortunately, Royal RSPS falls flat. Many parts of the website are incomplete, showcasing a lack of attention to detail. The design elements are generic and rushed, and the user experience is far from what you’d expect from a server trying to position itself as “new and improved.” The only section that appears to have received real focus? The store page. This alone speaks volumes. When the store is the most polished aspect of the site, it’s clear where the priorities lie — and it’s not on gameplay improvements or community engagement. Johnny’s Reputation: Another Server, Another Cash Grab This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this play out. Johnny, the notorious owner behind Royal RSPS, has a history of opening multiple servers under the guise of a “network.” Time and again, these servers follow a familiar pattern: launch with a lot of hype, collect player donations, and then slowly fade away with minimal updates or support. Royal RSPS seems to be following the same script. The rebrand from Destiny RSPS feels like a thinly veiled attempt to milk the player base once again, offering little in the way of real improvements. It’s hard to ignore that every time Johnny opens a new server, the same cycle repeats: hype, donations, neglect. Players Should Wait Before Investing If you’re thinking about jumping into Royal RSPS and opening your wallet, take a step back. With the server’s rocky history and the clear emphasis on monetization over substance, it’s worth waiting at least 3 months before even considering any financial investment. Don’t fall into the trap of getting excited by a few shiny new updates or flashy marketing campaigns. Take the time to see if this server actually follows through with meaningful updates or if it fizzles out once the initial donation surge is over. History suggests the latter. Is Royal RSPS a Worthwhile Investment of Your Time and Money? At this stage, it’s hard to say anything positive about the direction Royal RSPS is heading. The unfinished website, minimal updates beyond the store, and the notorious past of the server’s owner paint a bleak picture for both new and returning players. If you’re a seasoned RSPS player, you’ve likely seen this kind of cash grab before. The rebrand feels like a way to bring in new donations, rather than a genuine attempt to improve gameplay. Key Dates in the Rebranding Process August 13th: Destiny RSPS entered “Private Mode,” preventing new accounts from being created while the rebrand was being prepared. August 30th: Destiny went offline in preparation for the Royal RSPS launch. September 12th: Royal RSPS officially launched, but what’s really new aside from a few surface-level changes? Final Thoughts: Buyer Beware Royal RSPS is positioning itself as the next big thing, but the reality is much different. Johnny’s track record speaks for itself, and Royal RSPS looks like another server set to follow the same predictable pattern. With unfinished content, lazy graphics, and a clear focus on driving store sales, the rebrand feels more like a way to squeeze more money from players rather than offering a genuinely improved gaming experience. If you’re thinking of supporting this server, give it time. Watch how the community evolves and if the developers actually deliver on their promises. Until then, don’t invest your money into Royal RSPS. You might just find yourself left with an empty server and a lighter wallet.

In an unexpected turn of events, Jacmob, the renowned owner of Near-Reality (NR), has decided to cancel all YouTuber contracts and temporarily shift focus away from the once-dominant RSPS. According to an inside source, Jacmob commented, "We're shifting our focus from NR for now, but new servers are going to be massive!" It seems the spotlight is turning toward their highly anticipated new project, RuneSpawn. Even one of Near-Reality’s main listed owners, Stan, has been pulled into the new venture. As Jacmob revealed in a recent message, "Stan is working on RuneSpawn with me; he doesn't have an interest in NR." With two of the biggest names in the RSPS scene turning their attention to RuneSpawn, the future for this upcoming server seems brighter than ever. In addition to the major shift in focus toward RuneSpawn, recent developments suggest that all is not well within the Near-Reality (NR) project. A respected member from within the Near-Reality community has leaked concerning information, warning investors and players alike. According to this insider, the Near-Reality team is allegedly continuing to issue false disconnects and make false promises, all in an attempt to minimize chargebacks. The message is clear: "If I were you, I would stop investing in this project." The concerns don’t end there. It has been confirmed that Near-Reality recently suffered a massive security breach. Their source code has been leaked, and it is now publicly available on RuneSuite, a prominent site for RuneScape-related leaks and modding tools. You can review the leaked source here. This latest blow only adds to the growing list of concerns around Near-Reality’s future, casting doubts on the integrity and security of the project. If you're considering an investment in NR, it may be time to rethink your strategy. Stay tuned for more updates as we delve deeper into what RuneSpawn has in store and how this major shift will impact the Near-Reality community! Update 9/15/2024 Jacmob Addresses the Community Amid these concerns, Jacmob recently addressed the Near-Reality community directly regarding the ongoing server issues. In a public message, he stated: "Hello we are aware of the issues with the login server & disconnects. We have a solve hopefully by the end of the weekend. Thanks everyone!" (Jacmob, 3:57 AM). Despite his assurances, many in the community are skeptical. As one insider pointed out, "Even though it only takes 1-3 hours to get a NEW secure dedicated host, our fears are coming true—they could be intentionally keeping the disconnects." What’s Next for RuneSpawn and Near-Reality? As Jacmob and Stan turn their attention to RuneSpawn, Near-Reality’s future hangs in the balance. The shift in focus, combined with security issues and community unrest, leaves investors and players questioning whether NR will ever return to its former glory. Meanwhile, RuneSpawn’s launch is highly anticipated, and many are eager to see what new features and experiences it will bring to the RSPS community. Stay tuned for more updates as we delve deeper into what RuneSpawn has in store and how this major shift will impact the Near-Reality community!

RuneWild, a highly popular RSPS, boasts over 1,000 active players monthly, which is quite impressive given its relatively modest update schedule—only 4 to 6 updates annually. Major releases like Update #47 bring exciting content such as the Moons of Peril boss and new mobile accessibility. However, for a server of its size, players might expect more frequent updates. Despite this, RuneWild's vibrant community and engaging gameplay keep the player base thriving. We rate RuneWild a solid 9/10 for its remarkable player count and high-quality features, even with its slower update cadence. For more info, check out their announcements here

Hiring developers for your RuneScape Private Server (RSPS) can be daunting, especially when dealing with sensitive game data and source code. Unauthorized data access, accidental server misconfigurations, and potential data breaches are constant concerns. However, using a Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) environment, paired with the right security configurations, RSPS owners can hire developers without these worries. In this article, we’ll explore how setting up a locked-down RDP environment can allow you to hire anyone you please while ensuring your server remains safe. We’ll also dive into how advanced Group Policy Editor settings can be used to secure the environment even further. Securing RDP Access: Why It Matters for RSPS Owners When hiring a developer for your RSPS, giving them access to your code is necessary, but so is controlling what they can do on your server. With an RDP setup, you can provide developers with a virtual workspace where they can perform coding tasks, but without compromising security. This method keeps the core infrastructure of your RSPS protected. Here are some of the key benefits: No File Transfers: Developers can work on your RSPS code, but they can't copy files from the RDP server to their local machine. Minimal Permissions: By stripping away unnecessary administrative access, you can ensure that hired developers can’t make unauthorized changes to your server. Safe Environment: With internet restrictions and app whitelisting, you can ensure that developers can’t download unauthorized software or browse potentially malicious websites. Now, let’s go over the steps to build such a secure environment. Group Policy Editor: The Powerhouse for Locking Down RDP The Group Policy Editor in Windows allows you to configure advanced settings for managing access to various system components. Here are a few Group Policy settings that can help further secure your RDP environment: 1. Disable Clipboard Redirection Prevent developers from copying data from the RDP server to their local machines using clipboard redirection. Steps: Open Group Policy Editor by typing gpedit.msc in the Run dialog. Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Device and Resource Redirection Locate and Enable the policy "Do not allow clipboard redirection." This setting will block all clipboard interactions, ensuring that developers cannot copy and paste sensitive data. 2. Disable Drive Redirection Drive redirection allows users to access their local drives from within the RDP session. Disabling this will prevent developers from moving files from the server to their own machines. Steps: In the same Group Policy path as above, find "Do not allow drive redirection" and set it to Enabled. This stops any attempts to transfer files between the server and local machines. 3. Restrict Network Access via Firewall Restricting internet access is vital for ensuring that developers can only work on coding tasks and not access websites or download unauthorized software. Use Windows Firewall to block all outbound traffic, except for certain apps: Open Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security. Create an Outbound Rule that blocks all connections except for trusted coding programs like Visual Studio Code or specific IPs. For example, you could allow access only to your GitHub repository or necessary version control system. 4. Remove Administrative Access Granting limited privileges is key to ensuring that your hired developers can only access the files and settings they need. In Local Users and Groups, make sure developers are part of the Users group, not the Administrators group. Regularly review these settings to ensure no unnecessary permissions have been granted over time. Additional Suggestions for Extra Security 1. Enable Network Level Authentication (NLA) Network Level Authentication forces users to authenticate before establishing an RDP connection. This ensures that only authorized users can access the server. Open Group Policy Editor and navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Security Enable Require user authentication for remote connections by using Network Level Authentication. The Perfect Setup for RSPS Owners As an RSPS owner, ensuring the safety of your server when hiring developers is paramount. By configuring the Group Policy settings mentioned above, you can lock down your RDP environment, giving developers only the permissions they need to do their job—nothing more. Additionally, by blocking file transfers, limiting internet access, and removing admin rights, you ensure your RSPS remains secure. With added measures like NLA and 2FA, you’ll have a highly secure environment that allows you to hire developers with peace of mind, no matter where they are located. Stay tuned to our blog for more tips on managing your RSPS and improving server security.

Dodian.net takes Dodian to a whole new level of nostalgia, by providing consistent updates that keep the Dodian feel, while still giving it enough content to compete with other servers. Previous Dodian remakes (including this one up until recent) would emulate Dodian and not provide many more updates afterwards leaving the server to die off slowly. With this particular emulation, Dodian already has any remake, as well as unique ideas in the making such as quests, a new skill, a lotto system and a whole new combat system. We are driven by our community, and always try and listen to, and let the community voice their opinions about updates. We come from a tight-knit community and our goal is to make everyone feel welcomed. So, if you feel like reliving nostalgia, or embracing the RSPS life back in 2007, come give us a try! Media Over the past few years there have been quite a few Dodian remakes, even using this particular Domain. I'll leave some of the original media in a spoiler below, but what I really want to focus on is some of the things we have added that are new. I will be consistently updating this thread, as currently the server is getting updated daily.
