RuLocus: A Fresh Start for the RSPS Community After nearly two decades of being a vital part of the RuneScape private server (RSPS) community, RuneLocus is embracing an exciting new chapter! The platform has officially rebranded to RuLocus, a modernized and more universal name that signals an exciting transformation. Though the change may seem small—just two letters removed—the shift represents a big step forward for RuLocus in adapting to the evolving landscape of the RSPS world. The new domain, RuLocus.com, is now live, and all existing links from the old domain will continue to redirect, making the transition seamless for users. “It’s a small change. A big step,” the team explains. “A name that’s easier, cleaner, more universal—and one that works for everyone, even if we still need a moment to get used to it ourselves.” What’s Changing? The great news is that not much is changing at all—at least for now! RuLocus continues to offer the same trusted features that have made it a go-to platform for RSPS communities, including server toplists, vote tracking, and community tools. The main difference is the rebranding: a fresh, shorter domain and a more modern identity that reflects the platform’s continued evolution. While the change is mostly cosmetic and strategic, RuLocus encourages server owners to update their callback URLs and API integrations to ensure smooth, uninterrupted service in the future. So, go ahead and take a moment to future-proof your setup! “Please: take a moment, delete 2 letters, and future-proof your callback connection,” the team kindly reminds us. Why the Name Change? The decision to rebrand comes at a time when Jagex has been actively enforcing domain takedowns, which has led to uncertainty for long-standing RSPS sites. The team behind RuLocus saw this as a great opportunity to modernize the platform and create a more universal name—one that can stand on its own and avoid any potential confusion with RuneScape branding. “We’ve been exploring a rebrand for a while now,” the team shares. “As we looked to broaden our scope and modernize the platform, we knew it was time for a name that’s more universal, more future-proof, and frankly—easier for everyone to get behind.” Why No Advance Warning? RuLocus acknowledges that change can be tough, especially after so many years of familiarity. Instead of building suspense with a teaser campaign, the team chose to make the change quietly and efficiently to avoid any unnecessary disruption. “If there’s one thing we’ve learned in 18 years of running this website, it’s that people don’t like change—even when it’s for the better,” they explained. “So, we made the change cleanly and quietly.” What Should Server Owners Do? Update your callback URLs to use https://www.rulocus.com instead of the old domain. Check your scripts or integrations for any references to runelocus.com. Bookmark the new domain and share it with your community to avoid confusion. A Platform Looking Forward Though the name "RuneLocus" will now be a part of RSPS history, the platform's mission and community commitment remain as strong as ever. The RuLocus team is still focused on providing the same great service under their new, more universal identity. “We’re not going anywhere—just continuing under a new, more universal name,” the team assures us. “Same service. Same focus. New name.” For those of us who have been around the RSPS scene for a while, this marks the end of an era—but it’s also the start of an exciting new one. As RuLocus continues to grow, we can’t wait to see what’s next, and we’re excited to be part of this next chapter in the RSPS community!

Duping has been a controversial yet fascinating topic in the RuneScape private server (RSPS) community. Today, we delve into an old-school duping method using RuneAgent, a tool that hooks onto the Java client. By understanding packet manipulation and decompiling login methods, you can exploit vulnerabilities in any RSPS server. What is RuneAgent? RuneAgent is a Java-based tool that provides an interface for manipulating game packets and other client functions. With the proper knowledge, it allows players to duplicate items (duping) by exploiting the client-server relationship. How Duping Works with RuneAgent Decrypting Login Methods: To start, you need a decent understanding of Java decompilation. Tools like JD-GUI and JAD can help you navigate client methods and decompile critical login functionalities. Understanding Packets: Packets are the communication protocol between the client and server. With RuneAgent, you can intercept and manipulate these packets to create false commands, such as item duplication requests. Setting Up RuneAgent: Download and configure RuneAgent from its GitHub repository. Use tools like AspectJ or JavaSnoop to further analyze the client's private classes. Running the Client: Modify your config.js file and set up your run.bat or run.sh file. A typical setup might look like this: java -noverify -Xbootclasspath/a:"RuneAgent.jar";"lib/bcel-5.2.jar";"lib/rsyntax.jar";"client.jar" -javaagent:"RuneAgent.jar"=config.js -jar client.jar Tools of the Trade Here are some tools to get you started: Decompilers: JD-GUI AspectJ JavaSnoop Other Useful Resources: 317 Protocol Packet Analysis Pastebin A Note for Newcomers If you're new to the concept of duping and RuneAgent, check out this video tutorial by Injectnique: RuneAgent Basics: Video (18:43) The Bigger Picture While methods like RuneAgent may still work today, traditional duping methods like operating, combining, or multi-logging without packet knowledge are far less effective. As the RSPS scene evolves, understanding tools like RuneAgent remains critical for exploring client vulnerabilities.
