SpawnPK Faces Catastrophic Data Loss — Announces Full Economy Reset and Fresh Start After a decade of operation, SpawnPK — one of the longest-running and most popular RSPS servers — is facing a major reset. On April 8th, 2025, a catastrophic hardware failure struck SpawnPK's game server, causing the complete loss of player data. According to Ryan, the server's owner, the off-site backups had not been updated since December 2024 due to internal oversight. Ryan’s official statement on Discord: "Our off-site backups for player data had stopped uploading after December, plainly due to my own negligence. On behalf of the entire SpawnPK team, I sincerely apologize for not having a stronger recovery plan for us." A Fresh Start for SpawnPK In response to the disaster, the SpawnPK team has announced a full economy reset and the launch of a Fresh Start world. Key changes coming: Economy Reset: All inventories, banks, stats, and in-game wealth are being wiped to rejuvenate the server economy. Donation Recovery: Players who donated via PayPal after 2020 can use ::retroclaim to redeem up to $250 worth of donation credits under the original in-game names. Highscores Data: Player stats stored on the website’s highscores are unaffected and will be partially transferred into the new world. Account Amnesty: All previous bans and punishments will be lifted, giving previously banned players a second chance. Appeals and Community Reset Information Following the economy reset announcement, the SpawnPK staff team provided further clarification regarding appeals. A statement from staff member Scooby Doo confirmed: All punishments issued before the Fresh Start are lifted. Players who were previously banned are encouraged to submit a new appeal, even if their last appeal was declined less than 28 days ago. The 28-day appeal waiting rule is waived for this Fresh Start. Important: Do not DM staff members regarding your appeal status. Open a ticket via the ⁠⚖︱appeals section or comment on your existing appeal thread instead. The goal is to offer a clean slate, rebuild the community, and ensure everyone has a fair chance to participate in the new SpawnPK experience. What Caused the Data Loss? The SpawnPK server's hard drives completely failed, and while recovery efforts are ongoing, the chances of fully restoring the old player data are slim. Ryan noted that if any data is recovered later, the team will reward players' Fresh Start progress by linking it back to their original accounts where possible.
