RuneTopic.com Owner Exposed: DDoS Threats, Leaked DMs, and Hostile Behavior Introduction RuneTopic.com presents itself as a trusted hub for the RSPS (RuneScape Private Server) community. But behind the polished front, its leadership displays threats, intimidation, and unprofessionalism. After approaching the current owner of RuneTopic (known as Rage discord tag vixelstudio) to discuss services, I was met not with professionalism, but with insults, false accusations, and even DDoS threats through alternate accounts. This blog documents the exchanges directly, so the RSPS community can see the truth for itself. Hostile Responses to Simple Questions When asked about RuneTopic’s operation and partnerships, Rage quickly turned hostile: Accused me of “releasing ratted bases” with no proof. Called me “a rat” and “scum of the RSPS community”. Leaked DMs and bragged about it. Threatened DDoS attacks via an alternate account. What should have been a professional discussion about advertising turned into outright harassment. DDoS Threats and Alt Messaging The harassment didn’t stop on his main account. Rage (or an associate) also messaged me through an alt account, continuing with insults and veiled DDoS threats: “Nice IP… you live in the UK… send another message I’m waiting boss man.” This was accompanied by repeated name-calling and warnings not to “message my boy” (Rage). These actions demonstrate a clear intent to intimidate instead of engaging professionally. Why This Matters The RSPS community depends on trust, credibility, and collaboration. When the owner of a major platform: Leaks private DMs, Threatens DDoS attacks, Accuses others falsely of malware, Uses alts to harass and intimidate, …it undermines the entire ecosystem. RuneTopic.com’s brand is directly tied to its leadership. And when leadership behaves like this, the platform itself cannot be trusted.

The RSPS community is abuzz with speculation and concern following the recent Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaints filed against several prominent RSPS-related domains, including: rune-saga.com (Pending) runesaga.net (Pending) runeglory.com (Pending) rune-rift.com (Pending) These actions, believed to be initiated by Jagex Ltd., highlight the ongoing legal pressure on RuneScape Private Server operators. However, the community is now questioning why certain other platforms, such as rune-server.org, remain untouched, despite being perceived as clear breaches of copyright themselves. The Case Against the RSPS Domains The domains currently under UDRP scrutiny share a common theme: the "Rune" branding. This closely ties them to RuneScape’s intellectual property, potentially misleading users into believing these servers are affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex. Jagex has a long history of defending its trademarks, often targeting RSPS platforms and domains that infringe on its intellectual property. If the UDRP cases succeed, ownership of these domains could be transferred to Jagex, or the domains could be deactivated entirely. Why Has Rune-Server.org Been Overlooked? Amid these legal actions, many in the RSPS scene are asking: Why has Rune-Server.org not faced similar scrutiny? Rune-Server.org is one of the largest hubs for RSPS development, advertising, and discussion. Critics argue that it is a blatant breach of copyright, with its name and branding leveraging RuneScape’s intellectual property. Additionally, the platform facilitates the distribution of RSPS tools, source codes, and assets, further fueling the private server scene. However, there are several possible reasons why it may have been overlooked: Community Perception: Rune-Server.org is positioned as a community forum rather than a server host, which may give it a layer of separation from direct infringement. Strategic Prioritization: Jagex may focus its legal resources on direct competitors, such as RSPS domains actively hosting private servers, rather than forums. Legal Complexity: Proving that Rune-Server.org violates trademark or copyright laws might require more extensive legal effort compared to targeting individual server domains. What This Means for the RSPS Community These legal actions serve as a reminder of Jagex’s active role in monitoring and enforcing its intellectual property rights. While domains like rune-saga.com and runeglory.com are under direct threat, platforms like rune-server.org highlight the gray areas of RSPS legality. For developers, players, and RSPS enthusiasts, these developments raise critical questions about the future of the private server community and its ability to innovate without crossing legal boundaries. rspstoplist.com Stance At rspstoplist.com, we remain committed to providing players with a transparent, secure, and reliable platform for discovering RSPS servers. We advocate for creativity and originality in the RSPS scene while respecting intellectual property laws. As this situation unfolds, we’ll continue to provide updates on the UDRP cases and their impact on the community. Final Thoughts The UDRP complaints against RSPS domains like rune-saga.com and the broader questions surrounding platforms like rune-server.org underscore the tension between creativity and copyright enforcement in the RSPS world.
