RSPS YouTubers Hit With Jagex DMCA Takedowns — The RSPS Scene Faces Its Darkest Hour

The RSPS community has entered one of the most turbulent periods in its history. Multiple major RSPS YouTubers — including Wet Wizard, EffigySwiper, Vibranium RSPS, Artz — have now received official DMCA takedown notices from Jagex, confirmed to be issued through Web Capio, the anti-piracy service Jagex contracts for copyright enforcement.

For weeks, many players speculated these DMCA claims were fake or automated spam. Some creators dismissed the notices as trolls. Others believed Jagex would never directly target content creators given the RSPS scene’s long coexistence with the wider RuneScape ecosystem.

But that speculation is now over.

Jagex Mod Ragnar Confirms Enforcements Are Real

An official response from Jagex Mod Ragnar has publicly confirmed that Jagex is issuing and validating these takedowns. Ragnar has now personally confirmed actions against RSPS-related YouTube channels — even creators who weren’t hosting files, servers, or leaks, but simply posting gameplay, reviews, or commentary.

This marks a massive shift in Jagex’s enforcement strategy:

  • Not just servers

  • Not just websites

  • But now content creators are being directly targeted

For an RSPS scene fueled heavily by YouTube exposure, this is a severe blow.

Why Are These YouTubers Being Targeted?

The affected creators have one thing in common:

They helped popularize RSPS servers.

Their videos:

  • Featured gameplay from private servers

  • Showcased new updates, PvP, gambling systems, or custom content

  • Linked server websites in their descriptions

  • Were monetized through YouTube or affiliate deals

Under the DMCA, this is enough for Jagex to classify the content as:

“Unauthorized usage of proprietary RuneScape assets.”

With Web Capio acting on Jagex’s behalf, the strikes are:

  • Legally valid

  • Fully enforceable

  • Extremely difficult to dispute

And once a channel receives multiple strikes, YouTube can permanently delete it.

The RSPS YouTube Scene Is Now Hanging by a Thread

Creators who built their entire identity around RSPS content are now at a crossroads:

  • Do they stop posting RSPS content entirely?

  • Do they risk more strikes?

  • Do they move platforms?

Many are already purging videos, disabling links, or going silent to avoid losing their channels.

This is easily the biggest crackdown on RSPS creators in over a decade.

A Safe Bypass: Why Many Creators Are Moving to Kick

While YouTube is aggressively enforcing Jagex’s DMCA notices, Kick.com is currently the safest alternative for RSPS content creators.

Why?

  • Kick does not use YouTube’s automated copyright detection

  • Kick has no established enforcement partnership with Jagex

  • Kick does not auto-scan metadata or video frames for RuneScape assets

  • Strike systems are less aggressive

  • Streamers have more freedom with private-server content

Several creators are already testing streams on Kick to avoid the risk of losing their YouTube livelihood.

For creators who rely on RSPS content:

Kick may be the only viable long-term platform.

What This Means for the Future of RSPS

The RSPS ecosystem has always survived waves of shutdowns, domain disputes, and DMCA waves against individual servers.

But this is the first time in years that Jagex has:

  • Directly escalated action against influencers

  • Used enterprise-level copyright tools

  • Publicly confirmed enforcement through a J-Mod

  • Targeted all RSPS promotional channels at once

This crackdown could:

  • Reduce RSPS exposure

  • Harm new server launches

  • Limit marketing

  • Shift creators away from YouTube permanently

But at the same time, it could strengthen the RSPS community if creators adapt quickly and move to platforms like Kick where they can continue producing content safely.

Final Thoughts

The RSPS world is changing fast. As Jagex escalates legal pressure, creators and server operators must adapt or risk losing everything — channels, revenue, partnerships, and years of content.

Whether you’re a creator, player, or server owner, one thing is clear:

The RSPS YouTube scene will never be the same again.

But the RSPS community has always survived shocks.
This is just the next chapter — and right now, Kick.com might be the lifeline everyone needs.
